About Maggie Willis

Creative Packaging Designer

I’ve always enjoyed mastering new mediums, from pop books and crocheted blankets to light-up clay dioramas, pouring my heart into every project. This passion translated into my academics, where I became the Valedictorian of my high school. I became the art department head for my local all girls overnight camp, Camp Monterey, starting in high school and continuing through college. Here, I taught girls aged 7-17 on all sorts of art mediums.

After high school, I pursued a packaging program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, learning to design consumer packaging through hands-on experience. I got the opportunity to study environmental studies abroad in Sydney, Australia and Copenhagen, Denmark in my junior year. This expanded my knowledge of how we can sustainably design packaging by witnessing first hand other countries' environmental strategies.

The Beginning of My Packaging Journey

At 10 years old, my packaging journey began with modeling for a Razor Helmet header card. This was my first exposure to the packaging design world and opened the door for my interest to blossom.
